Toward Ethical and Inclusive Descriptive Practices

This case study describes the context which galvanized our Collection Management unit at UCLA Library Special Collections to collectively craft a descriptive practices statement within group focused on an anti-oppressive approach discovery and access. paper discusses planning design of group, direct engagement meetings, collaborative iteration, liberatory pedagogical strategies that enabled statement’s publication, its impact department, library, beyond. work speaks radical change provides potential path for development ethical inclusive other institutions.
